Citing sources familiar with the situation, the agency reports that Allianz is also interested in buying the Italian insurance portfolio of Aviva. The preliminary transaction cost may be 1 billion Euro, however, there are no guarantees that the deal will take place. However, affected by information on sale of business in Italy, Aviva’s shares rose by 3.1% in morning trading.
Let us remind, it was reported in December last year that Aviva had been negotiating with potential buyers the sale of units owned by the British insurer in Poland, Italy and France. The Aviva CEO Amanda Blank said that negotiations were at an early stage, so it was premature to talk about any agreements.
Later it became known that NN Group (Netherlands), Generali (Italy) and Allianz (Germany) are among the contenders for the deal.
