The U.S. Attorney's Office said Corey Martin was a manager of 26-year-old sex worker Brandy Odom. “He was a fan of the TV show Dexter and used information from that show to cover up his crime. The body of the young woman, missing her head and limbs, was discovered in the park in 2018,” Breon Peace, the prosecutor told reporters.
After a two-week trial, The Brooklyn jury found Martin, 36, guilty on all counts in the indictment. He faces life in prison.
“The offender purchased two life insurance policies in the victim’s name and dutifully made payments on them. Brandy Odom died by the hands of the defendant, but her life mattered, and I hope that the life sentence of this criminal will help the family see the justice of this world,” Peace concluded.
