Doctors consider sunburn to be anything from mild redness to bright red skin and blisters. For them, the difference is only in the degree of skin damage. However, there are general recommendations for everyone who is sunburned.
First of all, doctors recommend cooling the burn site. It is better to use a cooling compress from a damp towel or napkin for this. This will reduce pain and lower skin temperature. Another option is to take a cool shower with low water pressure so as not to injure the affected areas.
Moisturizing
Moisturizing is the second and mandatory stage. Many people know about the tradition of using sour cream for these purposes, but pharmacies now sell special creams that surpass its effect many times over. After application, they not only moisturize but also soothe the skin, relieve itching and “bring down” the temperature. If you get severe sunburn, it is better to take products with hydrocortisone. If redness is less pronounced, creams with aloe vera or panthenol are suitable. Sunburn remedies, apart from creams, are available in various forms. It is better to use emulsion, foam or spray so as not to touch painful areas again. In some particularly severe situations, it will be necessary to consult a dermatologist, who will prescribe medicinal ointments.
Water consumption discipline will also help replenish the body's loss of moisture due to a burn. Doctors recommend drinking as much water as possible. Tea, coffee and juices do not count.
Restriction
If a person is sunburned, it would be better for them to refrain from being on the beach that day. For the next few days, depending on the severity of the skin damage, direct sunlight should be avoided. If a severe burn is received, it is better to stay in the room; otherwise one may receive severe skin injury.
