First of all, the diet should include more colorful vegetables. Pumpkin, different types of peppers, tomatoes, carrots - all of these vegetables contain different antioxidants that stimulate immune system, the specialist notes. “Secondly, the presence of vitamin C in the body is very important. These are, for example, rose hips, which can be brewed into tea, apples, and berries,” the doctor said.

He added that mackerel, sardine and herring are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties. The most healthful nuts are peanuts, hazelnuts and walnuts. Immune system can also be strengthened by apples, berries and flaxseed oil, which can be used to season salads.
