In accordance with experts, most of all new specialties will appear in such areas as:
- engineering in alternative energy: hydrogen engineer, process control engineer for high-temperature materials science, engineers for alternative source energy generation, development of autonomous energy generation and power supply systems, and others;
- biology and chemistry in energy: energy culture agronomy, biochemistry of waste and energy fuel processing, microbiology in energy and others;
- management in the energy sector: climatic forecasting in alternative energy, numerical methods in energy, industrial psychology, development engineer based on multiphysics design analysis of energy objects - digital twins, sociology of energy ecosystems, architecture and planning of urban energy systems, housing services and utilities management 2.0 and others;
- energy audit, management, demand and consumption management.
In addition, it is predicted that the most demanded professions in the next five years are the following:
- climate forecasting in alternative energy;
- energy culture agronomy;
- biochemistry of waste and energy fuel processing;
- design engineer of alternative energy systems;
- developers of artificial intelligence for dispatching power grids;
- alternative energy specialists;
- energy auditors and managers.
It has also been revealed that in the near future alternative energy will develop in parallel with traditional energy. Until 2035-2040, the latter will be updated, but the range of basic professions will remain. Therefore, there are practically no areas in the atlas in which the dropout of specialties will occur.
The Ministry of Energy has noted that the final report is under preparation. It is planned to conduct a final questionnaire to determine new professions that will be most in demand later. On September 30, 2020, the Atlas of New Professions in the Energy Industry of Kazakhstan will be released.
