Li named nuts: hazelnuts, cashews, almonds, pistachios, peanuts and Brazil nut first on the list of cancer-fighting foods. According to specialist, they contain polyphenols that help in the fight against cancer, as well as omega-3 fatty acids that block the “nutrition” of cancer cells.
Another product is tomatoes. They are rich in lycopene, a substance that causes cancer cells to “starve” by blocking the flow of blood into them. Li turned attention to the study revealing that men who ate cooked tomatoes twice a week had a 30% lower risk of developing a prostate tumor.
The third product on the list is purple potatoes. This special variety of root vegetable is rich in anthocyanin, a cancer cell killer.
Li also recommends eating oysters, which are rich in protein, amino acids and antioxidants. Besides, shellfish can reduce the risk of human DNA damage tenfold.
The last recommended product is Matcha green tea; this drink proved to be particularly effective in fighting breast cancer.
