Fraudsters began using people's interest in the Threads social network to collect their personal and payment data.
The scam scheme is as follows: using the popularity of the new social network, attackers create clone sites that contain the word Threads in the name. Not having sufficient information about the service, people register, and then the scammers collect their personal information, including payment data.
These are portals with signs of cybersquatting - the intentional registration of domain names containing the name of someone else's brand or trademark. Therefore, it is highly recommended not to transfer data anywhere outside. An exception can only be made for official resources.
