It is a peptide of emericillipsin A, which is isolated from the alkalophilic micellial fungus Emericellopsis alkalina.

According to the authors of the study, its main therapeutic feature is it has a universal effect in the fight against most infectious diseases in humans and animals. Not only bacteria are defenseless before emericillipsin A but also practically any pathogenic eukaryotes, in particular, tumor cells, the scientists explain.

They believe that the discovered substance is promising both as an independent therapeutic agent and as a complex preparation element. Therapy can be carried out either through injections or locally, by treating the affected tissues.
