According to Natalia Lyakhov, a cardiologist at the Botkin City Clinical Hospital of the Moscow Health Department, chicken breast, turkey and nuts have a positive effect on heart function. It is also recommended to eat fatty fish and green vegetables. Among cereals, one should pay attention to wholemeal flour, bread made from it, whole grains and wheat flour. However, fatty, fried and smoked meat is strongly discouraged for people with heart disease. Sausages, pickles, snacks, chips and soda are also banned.
“It is advisable to choose low-fat or with a minimum content of animal fats dairy and curd products,” the doctor concluded.
