Offshore countries are popular among the countries where the domestic investors send their capital. Thus, in January-September 2021, the largest volume of investments fell on the Cayman Islands: $637.5 million, almost three times more than in the same period of 2020.
The next is Russia ($253.1 million), and the Seychelles, another offshore country, closes the top three ($176.6 million). The entire volume of investments of Kazakhstani investors in the Seychelles was sent in the third quarter of 2021. The proportion of the Cayman Islands, on the contrary, grew gradually. So, in 2011 it was only 0.1%, by 2020 it increased to 23.3%, and by the end of January-September 2021, the share of this direction reached 42.2%.
