According to the Social and Economic Development Forecast as of 2023-2027, the population in the country will exceed 20.5 million people in five years. The workforce from the age of 15 will reach 9.5 million people.
Among the 9 million employed population 7.5 million people will be hired employees. Another 1.5 million people will be self-employed.
The Ministry of National Economy also expects that there will be 453.1 thousand people (4.9%) unemployed in 2022, and this figure will be 446.1 thousand people (4.7%) in 2027.
According to the department’s expectations, the average monthly salary will reach 430.4 thousand tenge in 2027. This figure should be about 322.3 thousand tenge in 2023. The real wage index will be 3.4%.
Let us remind you that, according to the results of the 2nd Q 2022, the average monthly salary of a Kazakhstani citizen amounted to 312 thousand tenge. Average per capita nominal cash income in August amounted to 146.6 thousand tenge. However, the real cash income of Kazakhstanis for this period decreased by 2.7%.
