InsureTechHackaton is a key event aimed at identifying and supporting talented students in the field of information technology, designed to stimulate innovations in IT technology for the insurance industry.
This year, the winners of the hackathon were determined by a special jury, to which, in addition to the Halyk-Life IT team, the following were invited: the Chairman of the Board of the State Credit Bureau, the Director of the AlmaU Corporate Innovation Laboratory, and the Managing Director for IT of the country's largest microfinance provider KMF.
“The main goal of the hackathon that we set for ourselves by organizing this interesting competition, was to identify and support talented students in the field of information technology and focus their attention on digitalization of the life insurance sector, which is the most socially oriented sector of the financial market,” Deputy Chairman of the Board of LIC Halyk-Life Aidos Bekov commented on the event.
Based on the results of reviewing the prototypes and concepts of the hackathon participants, 4 winning teams were identified, which, in addition to recognition and internship invite, received a monetary reward from Halyk-Life.
“Allowing for new trends among the younger generation, we can be sure that in the next 5-10 years a technological development will make it possible to transfer the majority of insurance contracts to a full online format. Therefore, we are confident that young, ambitious and creative students are the most powerful technical potential of our country. “In addition to hackathon for students, we are ready to provide the winners and particularly distinguished participants with internship in our Company and become their first professional launch pad,” commented Aidos Bekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of LIC Halyk-Life, on the event.
