The adopted legislative norms have already allowed Russian insurers to connect to the electronic registry office system and the Social Insurance Fund. According to the specialist, companies began to promptly make payments on a number of insurance risks, thanks to these steps.
A pilot project to introduce the Digital Profile is being implemented in Russia. This initiative is a logical continuation of the "Unified Identification and Authentication System in Infrastructure", which links user accounts to the State Services portal. According to Evgeny Shcheklanov, 63 participants, including banks, aggregators, insurance companies, etc., have already connected to the Digital Profile in the experimental mode. The issue of providing access to medical data remains on the agenda: the written consent is required for that today. The expert notes that this situation hinders the efficiency of payments, as a person has to first collect and provide the necessary documents.
“Insurers' access to medical information takes on new meaning when it comes to critical illness, for example. In such cases, people who are fighting for their lives have to spend their energy and nerves on paperwork. The transformation of current legislation will allow insurers to make payments almost immediately after the completion of a doctor's appointment,” the managing director of SberLife Insurance concluded.
