More than a third of all work-related accidents occur in 2 regions: Karaganda region (433 injured) and East Kazakhstan region (302 injured).
For January–May 2020, the premiums collected by the insurance companies in the compulsory accident insurance segment were 14.1 billion tenge, 9.9% more than the same period last year. The share of all compulsory insurance premiums collected for the year has increased from 28.5% to 32%.
The volume of payments in the sector, on the contrary, immediately decreased by 23.5% and in January-May 2020 amounted to 1.6 billion tenge. The share of total payments on compulsory insurance dropped from 14.6% to 12%.
Among insurance companies operating in the sector, almost half of all premiums were collected by two life insurance companies Nomad Life (3.8 billion tenge) and Halyk-Life (3.1 billion tenge) only.
The largest increase in collected premiums compared to last year was shown by LIC Eurasia, 2.9 times at once up to 1.2 billion tenge.
LIC Halyk-Life is leading in the segment of compulsory accident insurance in terms of insurance payments (372.2 million tenge), followed by Nomad Life (338.2 million tenge) and Eurasia (169.1 million tenge). These three companies make almost 55% of all payments in the segment.
