“We notice an upward trend in insurance of older people: the number of insured Russians over 60 years old has doubled in 2024. We attribute this trend to the growth of financial literacy, since purchasing an insurance policy for older people can significantly save not only on medical treatment but also on rehabilitation after an injury,” commented Svetlana Loginova, manager of the insurance department of Sravni.
However, the most popular policies are insurance for children. According to Sravni, they account for more than 70% of sales in 2024. Russians most often include swimming, football, running, volleyball, and sports tourism in their insurance coverage.
According to the company, the most popular policies purchased online have insurance coverage of 50 thousand (257.7 thousand tenge) and 350 thousand rubles (1.8 million tenge): they are purchased by 36.5% and 45% of insurance clients, respectively. The average cost of accident insurance policy slightly increased in 2024, 607 thousand rubles (3.1 million tenge) against 578 thousand rubles (2.9 million tenge) in 2023. Most often, policies are issued to men (62%). Most clients (43%) issue insurance for a period of nine months to a year. The policies for one to five days are the second popular policies; they are chosen by 22% of clients.
