As of September 1, 2024, the number of recipients of SSA for disability is about 541.2 thousand people, in case of loss of breadwinner - about 185.7 thousand people.
The size of state social allowance for disability depends on the group and cause of disability, as well as on the subsistence minimum established by the law "On the National Budget" for the relevant financial year.
The size of state social allowances in the event of the loss of a breadwinner depends on the number of dependents of the deceased breadwinner, the cause of death and the subsistence minimum.
In addition, participants in the compulsory social insurance system receive social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund in the event of social risks. Thus, as of September 1, 2024, 97.5 thousand people received social benefits for loss of labor capacity, and about 64.7 thousand families received social benefits for breadwinner loss.
The amount of payments is individual and depends on average monthly income, from which social contributions to the State Social Insurance Fund have been made over the past two years, coefficients of disablement, a number of dependents, length of participation in the compulsory social insurance system and income replacement.
These payments are made in addition to similar benefits paid from the national budget.
From January 1, 2024, the size of state social benefits for disability and loss of breadwinner were raised by 7% due to the increase in the subsistence minimum. By decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the amount of payments from the State Social Insurance Fund for loss of labor capacity and loss of breadwinner were also raised by 7%.
Thus, this year, the size of state social allowances for disability from a general illness is 95,496 tenge for group 1, 76,397 tenge for group 2, and 52,089 tenge for group 3.
As of September 1, 2024, the average size of social allowances for loss of ability to work is 58,257 tenge, for loss of a breadwinner - 61,939 tenge.
