People are also paid social benefits and payments upon the occurrence of disability and the loss of a breadwinner.
“This year, social benefits are covering 4.4 million families for a total amount of about 2.3 trillion tenge. This is 18.3% more than spent last year. For four months of this year social benefits or payments have been assigned to over 3.2 million families,” informed Galiya Zhabagina.
One-time payments are provided from the State Social Insurance Fund for working women in case of loss of income due to pregnancy and childbirth. The size of payment depends on woman’s average monthly income over the last 12 months. Based on results of four months, more than 90 thousand people received this payment.
Starting from January 1, the size of the one-time benefit for child birth has been increased. 140 thousand tenge are paid for the first, second and third child born this year, and more than 232 thousand tenge - for the fourth and subsequent children. Over 136 thousand people have got this benefit since the year beginning.
For non-working women, a monthly allowance from the budget for child care until the age of one and a half years is paid depending on the childbirth order with an increase in the amount for the first, second, third and subsequent children - from 21,266 tenge to 32,859 tenge. The size of social benefit from the SSIF is 40% of the average monthly income of working women over the past two years.
Besides, subsidizing of mandatory pension contributions for parents caring for children have been introduced since 2014.
The interlocutor also spoke about benefits to large families with 4 or more minor children living together or full-time students under the age of 23.
“The size of benefit is differentiated by the number of children - from 59,183 tenge for a family with 4 children to 118,144 tenge for families with 8 children. And for families with even more children, this amount per child increases by 14,768 tenge. This year, the benefit will be paid to 601.8 thousand families, 474.8 billion tenge will be allocated for these purposes,” informed Galiya Zhabagina.
To enhance prestige of mothers of many children a lifetime monthly state benefit is also assigned, which is paid regardless of income to women awarded the “Kumis Alka” and “Altyn Alka” pendants. This year it is planned to pay this benefit to 237,598 mothers; the national budget has allocated 70 billion tenge for these purposes.
