Infographics reflects the statistics on accidents that occur annually in Russia. These include thermal and chemical burns, fractures, sprains, limb injuries, food, chemical and drug poisoning. The data on overall level of injuries in Russia is quoted.
“The name of the infographic is nonstandard, and it urges people to think about what they don’t want to think, but should,” says project attorney Sergey Smirnov. - Accidents are always an unpleasant surprise. This is just a part of the trouble. The main problem is that in Russia, unlike Western countries, the United States and a number of Asian countries, there is still a low level of penetration of accident insurance. And, having got into trouble, with no ability to work and feed them and their family, even for a short period, our fellow citizens are left alone with the misfortune; they have to compensate their losses from their own pockets. Many go into debt, loans. And family members, in case of the breadwinner loss, find themselves in lose-lose situation."
The reason is one, the expert continues, it is an insufficient level of insurance culture in Russia, mindsets: "someone else will take care of me" or even more common - "this will not happen to me". In the modern world you need to take care of yourself, as the cost of insurance starts from a couple of hundred rubles, and it is issued “in a couple of clicks”.
The infographic also shows that in 2017 alone, insurance companies paid 14,367,296 thousand rubles to people who suffered from accidents.
“According to statistics, the interest in this type of insurance is growing from year to year in Russia, -adds Sergey Smirnov, - and yet everyone should think about how he can protect himself and his family”.
