MOSCOW. KAZINFORM. As the head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan emphasized, in order to further improve the insurance market of Kazakhstan, the National Bank in 2017 drafted the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Insurance and Insurance Activities", which is currently under consideration by the Parliament.
"The bill provides for creation of a legal framework for online insurance introduction. This will reduce the cost and expand the geographical availability of insurance services. The key element of online insurance will be the Single Insurance Database for Insurance Contracts. It will be a single accounting organization and a repository of insurance contracts", Akishev told the INA Kazinform correspondent.
Also, the head of the financial controller noted that in order to strengthen the protection of consumer rights of insurance services, the draft law provides for a set of measures to develop the insurance market infrastructure.
"Within the system of guaranteeing insurance payments, there are mechanisms for protecting citizens by socially important insurance classes. With a view to pre-trial settlement of disputes, the scope of activity of the insurance ombudsman has been expanded for all compulsory and voluntary classes of insurance. We believe that the adoption of the bill will allow the Kazakhstani insurance market to take to a new level”, D. Akishev added.
