The number of individual pension accounts (IPA) of Kazakhstanis exceeded 11 million. According to the National Bank, as of December 1 last year, the total amount of savings on IPAs reached almost 16.8 trillion tenge. People at the age from 31 to 40 years saved for old age the most - 4.9 trillion tenge, the age group from 41 to 50 years old saved 4.8 trillion tenge, and from 51 to 60 years old - 4.3 trillion tenge.
But the least savings were in the accounts of older depositors: the age over 81 years old - 1.3 billion tenge, and from 71 to 80 years old - 7.6 billion tenge.
The main volume of savings still falls on Almaty – 3.3 trillion tenge. Compared to December 1, 2022, the amount in the pension accounts of Almaty residents built up by 26.9%.
In terms of volume of savings on IPAs next come Astana with 1.5 trillion tenge (+15.4%), Karaganda region - 1.2 trillion tenge (+13.2%), Shymkent - 993.8 billion tenge (-12.05 %), East Kazakhstan region – 888.9 billion tenge (+16.6%).
The smallest amount of pension money has been accumulated in the Almaty region - 195.7 billion tenge and Ulytau region - 213.8 billion tenge. The growth in these regions has been 4.8 times over the year.
