Only 17% of 2 thousand respondents knew that policyholders could use life insurance policies for chronic diseases to pay bills to medical organizations.
The AIG Life & Retirement team wondered who the respondents selected as the beneficiaries of their policies. Children took first place: 49% of respondents said they would use life insurance to protect them. Almost the same number, 47%, indicated their spouses as beneficiaries. Pets take the third place. Survey participants said they would like to use life insurance to protect them.
