As reported by the online resource UkrStrakhovanie with reference to the ABI report, the total volume of insurance payments under such contracts for 2023 formed 1.2 billion pounds sterling, which was the highest figure in history and equivalent to 3.2 million pounds sterling per day.

The average insurance claim in 2023 was £668, almost 50% more than the average policy of £389. There were 1.8 million insurance claims, by 32% more than in 2022.

“A record number of pet owners across the UK are buying insurance to cover the cost of veterinary treatment. With a variety of pet insurance policies available, it’s important to choose the best policy for your needs, not just based on price,” said Jonathan Purvis, policy adviser at ABI.
