Amendments
Reimbursement of employer expenses for preventive measures by life insurance companies is up to 6% of the insurance premium paid. Preventive measures include training of managers and people responsible for safety and health protection, assessment of professional risks, development of regulatory and technical documentation, conducting periodic medical examinations, modernization of fixed assets that affect the risk of industrial injuries, installation of collective protection equipment, as well as security systems.
Reimbursement of expenses for rehabilitation measures by life insurance companies is up to 6% of the insurance premium paid. Rehabilitation measures include socio-psychological rehabilitation, professional and labor rehabilitation, employer’s additional expenditures caused by damage to the health of the injured employee, and restorative and reconstructive therapy.
Life insurance companies pay for sanatorium-resort treatment of injured employee in the amount of up to 100 monthly calculation indices (MCI). If the cost of services exceeds 100 MCI, a social payment at the expense of the recipient will be possible.
Strengthening social protection for affected workers
When calculating the amount of recourse payments, the employee’s guilt is also determined. If the employee’s fault was established, say, in the amount of 50%, then, accordingly, only 50% of the payment is made to them. The new amendments exclude this. Thus, if an employee gets a work injury, compensation for damage to life and health will be provided in full.
Besides, the amendments to legislation provide for lifelong insurance payments to persons for whom the degree of loss of professional ability in the amount of 30 to 100% was initially established before May 10, 2015 and extended or re-certified without a period of certification in the period from May 10, 2015 to January 1, 2024 at the expense of insurance organizations. There are about 1.4 thousand such recipients.
