Fyodor Konyukhov made five sailings round the globe, and in 2016, he flew around the world in an air balloon on his first attempt setting two world records.
The company insured the traveler on the eve of the expedition to the North Pole. From July 7 to 8, 2024, Fyodor Konyukhov and his partner Igor Potapkin set a world record by making the world's first successful flight on a two-seater paraglider (motor paraglider) in the high-latitude Arctic.
The pilots took off from an ice floe in the Arctic Ocean from the Franz Josef Land archipelago (from 86 degrees north latitude) and flew to the geographic North Pole. The length of the journey was 440.51 km. Travel time was 10 hours and 13 minutes.
The traveler will be covered from unforeseen situations for a year starting with the July trip. The policy covers any of Fyodor's modes of transportation, be it hot air balloons, canoes, kayaks, motorized paragliders or helicopters.
“Life insurance is not just a formality for the traveler; it is a guarantee of safety and protection anywhere in the world. And Fyodor Konyukhov, as a true professional, understands the importance of this procedure. We are inspired by the incredible story of his air balloon flight in 2016. And we believed it necessary to prepare a unique insurance for him that would cover any extreme modes of transportation, including a motorized paraglider, which he used to set a world record at the North Pole,” said Igor Kobzar, Vice President of Sberbank, CEO of SberStrakhovanie Life.
