Two out of five victims of workplace accidents were employed in the Karaganda region

In 2021, the number of victims of work-related accidents amounted to 2.1 thousand people, 4.9% more than a year earlier, 176 followed by death. 240 people were injured in group accidents, 351 people suffered from occupational diseases, 47 people were poisoned, reports Finprom.kz.
Two out of five victims of workplace accidents were employed in the Karaganda region

Most of the victims were employed in the manufacturing industry: 572 people, 10% more than a year earlier. The mining industry was also among the most traumatic industries: 444 people, immediately a critical 27.2% more than in 2020.

Every fourth (and even more frequently) tragic case took place in the Karaganda region: 537 victims worked here in 2021, whopping 21.2% more than a year earlier.

It is noteworthy that this year the Karaganda region accounts for at least about 20% of the total volume of investments in the sector. In the same period a year earlier though there were only 3.7%.
