It has been established that since March one of the insurance companies of a neighboring country has been selling the AntiCoronaVirus (online) product, which provides insurance payments in case of harm to health of the insured person or his death as a result of a disease caused by this infection. By the present moment these insurance contracts have been concluded with more than 12 thousand people.
“However, such cases as ground for insurance compensation are not provided for by the company bylaws. These circumstances create the risks of non-receipt of insurance payouts by people,” the Prosecutor General’s release said.
The management of the insurance company has already been warned about the impermissibility of unjustified refusals in insurance payments. Besides, on behalf of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, the Central Bank takes measures with respect to the insurer in order to minimize insurance risks associated with the sale of the AntiCoronVirus insurance product.
