“Men are digging ditches and laying sandbags in the village of Bes kol (Bishkul), and women are sorting and packaging humanitarian aid in the city of Petropavlovsk. At the moment, the difficult situation due to floods remains in the Kyzylzhar region and the city of Petropavlovsk,” the release of LIC Freedom Life says.
Spring floods in Kazakhstan have become record high in the last 80 years; Aktobe, Akmola, Atyrau, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Pavlodar regions have been especially badly damaged. In total, more than 118 thousand people have been evacuated from flooded areas since the beginning of the flood.
