Earlier, a decrease in the deposit portfolio has already been noted: in April by 738.7 billion tenge, and in March - by 910.8 billion tenge. In total, from late February to early June, that is, over the period from the beginning of Russia's military operations against Ukraine and the most severe geopolitical crisis of this century associated with it, the total volume of deposits of the second-tier banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan has sunk by 2.21 trillion tenge.
Only 11 second-tier banks managed to maintain the growth of the deposit base in May, and four of them had unstable dynamics, as the portfolio was reduced in annual terms.
Home Credit Bank has a commanding lead in terms of monthly growth in the deposit portfolio among all STBs of the Republic of Kazakhstan: by 182.5 billion tenge at once to 350 billion tenge as of June 1 of this year. Bank CenterCredit is in the second place: plus 95.2 billion tenge in May to 1.82 trillion tenge. The bank also added in individual deposits (plus 45.2 billion tenge to 931.2 billion tenge), and in deposits of legal entities (by 50 billion tenge to 890.2 billion tenge). The third place is occupied by Kaspi Bank focused mainly on the population: plus 77.2 billion tenge per month to 3.06 trillion tenge. In the retail segment main for the bank, it increased the volume of individual deposits by 81.3 billion tenge (the most significant monthly growth in the sector) to 2.69 trillion tenge. The top 5 in terms of growth also included Eurasian Bank (plus 35.1 billion tenge in May) and Altyn Bank (plus 25.1 billion tenge in a month).
In current situation and ongoing crisis superimposed on previous problems, with regard to the structure of deposits, by June 1 of this year, household deposits in the total portfolio of Kazakhstani banks amounted to 12.71 trillion tenge (minus 120.7 billion tenge per month), corporate deposits - 11.69 trillion tenge (minus 437.7 billion tenge in May).
Thus, the share of population accounted for 52.1% of the total deposit volume of STBs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, against 51.4% a month earlier and 50.2% a year ago.
