Most of them took this step while sober: 78.3% or 1.7 thousand people (4.2% less than a year earlier). 409 people committed suicide in a state of alcoholic intoxication, 5 people - in a state of drug intoxication, 1 person - in a state of substance abuse, another 57 people - in a different morbid state of mind.
The number of suicides among men decreased by 4.8% to 1.7 thousand, women - by 12.3% to 458. The number of suicides among minors also dropped by 31.3% to 79, 63 of them lived in two-parent families, 15 in incomplete families, 1 minor belonged to the category of children left without parental care.
The largest number of suicides in terms of regions occurred in the Almaty region: 222 cases in seven months of this year, 15.6% less than a year earlier. Next come East Kazakhstan (211 cases, minus 16.6%) and Turkestan (195 cases, minus 7.1%) regions.
