The demand for insurance against "shooter attack" has increased in the USA

American schools more often buy insurance for students against “gun shooter attack” reported by Reuters and news.eizvestia.com.

This is due to the increased frequency of shooting in American schools.

"Over the past month, representatives of schools from seven districts of the State of Florida, who have purchased insurance policies for a total of more than $3 million have addressed me," said Paul Marshall, the McGowan insurance company employee.

According to the insurance companies’ representatives, a large amount of compensation is related to the high costs of medical care.  As an example Marshall cited the case of Anthony Borges, who was injured in February this year as a result of gun shooting at school in Parkland, Florida. Over the past month, the teenager has had eight surgeries, while the total cost of his treatment might have reached $1 million.

The father of the injured schoolboy uploaded a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe website. So far he managed to raise more than $ 742 thousand for his son’s treatment.

As noted by the agency, the cost of policy covering the cases of armed attacks is more than $1 thousand per year for each student. According to the agency forecasts, due to increase of number of gun shooting in US schools, the demand for insurance against "gun shooter attacks" will increase.
