“Buy carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and other popular vegetables,” the specialist says. – It is better, however, to eat potatoes as rarely as possible, as there is a lot of starch, but not enough fiber in it. You should exclude grapes that contain a lot of glucose. Banana is another issue: on the one hand, the fruit has a lot of carbohydrates that quickly increase the level of glucose in the blood (which is bad), on the other hand, it contains a lot of potassium (which is good). Therefore, try to eat a small amount of bananas. In terms of fruits, try to take ones grown in central Russia, they are the most useful."
Also, sea fish, especially from the northern seas, are very useful for the heart and blood vessels. It is recommended at least two to three times a week, ideally five to six times.
In addition, the list included nuts (walnuts, cashews, peanuts, cedar) and olive oil, which contains very important omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are involved in the regulation of cholesterol metabolism.
“Dark chocolate is another healthy product (more than 70 percent of cocoa content), it has a positive effect on cardiovascular and nervous systems’ functioning,” says the cardiologist. - Do not worry for your figure, 20-30 grams of chocolate per day (I emphasize: bitter, not milk) will not harm it.”
