As of end of March 2021, 197.8 thousand people, or 2.2% of the labor force, were registered as unemployed in the employment agencies of Kazakhstan, with an increase of 39.5% since the year beginning. According to statistics, growth of unemployment in the rest of the EAEU countries turned out to be less.
Thus, for three months this index in Belarus has increased by 19.4%, to 8.6 thousand people, or 0.2% of the labor force, in Kyrgyzstan - by 3.1%, to 79.1 thousand, or 3.1% of the economically active population, and in Armenia - by 2.8%, to 63 thousand.
However, Russia became the only member of the Union, where since the year beginning the number of registered unemployed dropped by 37%, to 1.75 million people, or 2.3% of the workforce.
As of end of March, the employment agencies of the EAEU countries numbered almost 2.1 million people in total with a decrease from the year beginning by 31.5%.
