Most industrial accidents occur during construction work and in transport. Over the past seven months, 16 accidents, 3 of them fatal, were recorded in the region.
As Igilik Aubakirov, the Head of State Labor Inspectorate Administration of Atyrau oblast, told Kursiv, one fatal case occurred in the Kurmangazinsky district. The local hospital paramedic died as a result of a traffic accident in which an ambulance unit got into.
The second case is related to decease of a truck crane driver belonging to the KazTransGas Onimderi Company. A truck crane when moving along the main gas pipeline drove into the earth-fill, and when turning it fell on the left side. As a result of the accident, the driver received fatal injuries.
The third fatal accident occurred in April this year at the Consolidated Contracting Engineering & Procurement S.A.L. Offshore (CCEP) site in Tengiz.
“During the hoisting works, the heavy-duty equipment driver was pressed between the boom and the fuel tank of the loader crane, which killed him,” said Igilik Aubakirov.
He noted that on all accidents, the collected materials for proceeding decisions were transferred to law enforcement agencies. According to the Labor Inspectorate Administration, almost half of all accidents occur in construction, oil and gas and transport fields...
