Recognition library integration was performed by the developers of the mobile application EastBanc Technologies, according to Ingosstrakh. The ability to recognize Russian passport data, driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates was presented in updated IngoMobile application for iOS and Android. The application is designed for existing and new "Ingosstrakh" clients, who can calculate, issue or extend insurance policies without visiting the office.
Recognition of customer documents reduces time for data entry such as policy holder, driver and car when making new hull and third-party liability policy. Now the client can simply point the phone camera at the document for a few seconds, and all the necessary data will be automatically recognized. This information is added to the form field of IngoMobile application and conveniently saved in the profile of the customer; that allows him not to re-type it when making the next purchase.
Smart ID Reader scans the document in the video stream and retrieves the data on the device without transferring the images to the server. As for technical requirements to the camera and computing resources, the technology is adjusted to work even with basic smartphones with low resolution cameras, states the company.
