According to the expert, hair straightening can be distinguished as one of the most dangerous for health, since preparations for it contain formaldehyde.
The doctor notes that the risk appears when using a carcinogen more than eight times a month, therefore this procedure is even more dangerous for a technician than salon customer.
Andrey Bazylev also warns about the dangers of using cosmetic preparations containing dioxane, as the substance can provoke various endocrine disorders in the body, which can also lead to cancer development.
As for UV lamp for drying nails, the specialist reassures that this method can only be harmful if frequently used. The risk of cancer can arise if you do a manicure with such a lamp 10-15 times a month.
Regarding hair dyeing and Botox injections, the doctor believes, they are safe for health.
“It (hair dye - ed.) has previously contained carcinogens but starting from the 70s, the hazardous substances have been removed and there is no health risk when hair dyeing,” the oncologist said.
As for botulinum toxin injections, Andrei Bazylev informs that the studies have proved this procedure carries no risk either.
