Out of the total number of individual retirement accounts on compulsory contributions, 8,730 thousand are held by current depositors. This index corresponds to the number of employed people (8 695 thousand people as of January 1, 2019). “From this we can conclude that the employed population of the country is almost completely covered by the saving pension system. The number of IRAs as of January 1, 2019 amounted to 10.4 million accounts, 9.8 million of which were accounts for compulsory pension contributions, 479.5 thousand - for compulsory professional pension contributions and 47,803 accounts for voluntary pension contributions,” UAPF release informed.
Based on the results of year 2018, the number of active depositors making at least one contribution per year amounted to 6,407 thousand. This index increases annually. For comparison, it amounted to 5,914 thousand in 2017.
“By 12 contributions per year were received on 3 million accounts, from 6 to 12 contributions – on 5 million accounts. As of 2018, the average amount of contributions of each depositor is 9. Over 50% of depositors have experience of regular listing of CPC less than 5 years, and over 75% of depositors have experience of less than 10 years,” the organization’s press service notes.
The average amount of pension savings of depositors who have made regular CPC over the entire period of the NPS work amounted to 5.1 million tenge for men and 3.9 million tenge for women.
